Abstract

A decision support system application was developed using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to determine recipients of the Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) scholarship at STMIK Indonesia Banjarmasin. The Indonesian government offers various scholarship programs to support higher education as part of human resource development. As a participating institution, STMIK Indonesia Banjarmasin faces challenges in selecting scholarship recipients due to time-consuming manual processes and data management issues.
The SAW method was selected for its simple yet accurate calculation process. It involves weighting criteria, normalizing matrices, and calculating preference values to rank alternatives. Key selection criteria include parental income, number of dependents, parental status, and ownership of a welfare card. The application aims to streamline the selection process and securely store recipient data in a centralized database.
The results show that implementing the SAW method effectively assists the student affairs department in the selection and reporting of KIP recipients. The system enhances both the efficiency and accuracy of scholarship data management at STMIK Indonesia Banjarmasin.
